A YouTube earnings calculator estimates how much ad revenue a channel could make from its daily views, niche, audience country and click-through rate. Enter your numbers, press Calculate Earnings, and you get daily, monthly and yearly estimates in US dollars, plus an illustrative monthly range and a breakdown of other income sources.

What Is a YouTube Earnings Estimate?

A YouTube earnings estimate is a projection of ad revenue built from views and a revenue rate. It is not a measured payout. The rate that matters most is RPM (revenue per mille), the amount a creator earns per 1,000 views after YouTube takes its share.

RPM is different from CPM. CPM is what advertisers pay per 1,000 ad impressions, before YouTube's cut. Under the YouTube Partner Program, creators receive 55% of ad revenue from long-form videos, which is why RPM is always lower than CPM. Your real figures appear in YouTube Studio once your channel is monetized, and this page helps you plan before that point or compare scenarios side by side.

How to Use the YouTube Earnings Calculator

You fill in four inputs and press one button. The steps below match the labels on the page.

  1. Type your average views per day into Daily Video Views. The field starts at 10,000 and accepts zero or any positive number.
  2. Choose a Niche / Category. There are 12 options, from Music / Reaction to Real Estate / Insurance.
  3. Pick your Primary Audience Country. You can choose Global Average or one of 13 countries, including the United States, India, Germany and Brazil.
  4. Drag the Click-Through Rate (CTR %) slider anywhere from 1% to 15% in steps of 0.5. The starting value is 5%.
  5. Click Calculate Earnings.
  6. Read the Daily, Monthly and Yearly cards, the RPM Used figure, the Illustrative Monthly Range (Low and High) and the breakdown table.

If you change any input after calculating, the old results disappear. Press Calculate Earnings again to see fresh numbers.

How Do You Calculate YouTube Earnings From Views?

The basic formula is views divided by 1,000, multiplied by RPM. For example, 100,000 views at a $3 RPM earn about $300. This calculator adds a few steps so niche, country and CTR all affect the answer.

  • RPM Used equals the niche base rate times the country multiplier.
  • Ad-eligible views equal daily views times 45%, scaled by a CTR factor.
  • Daily earnings equal ad-eligible views divided by 1,000, times RPM.
  • Monthly is daily times 30, and yearly is daily times 365.

How much does niche change the result?

Niche sets the base RPM. Music / Reaction starts at $1.20 and Entertainment / Vlogs at $1.50. Gaming sits at $2.50, Education / How-To at $4.00 and Technology at $5.00. Finance / Business is $6.50, Law / Legal $7.00 and Real Estate / Insurance $8.00. Advertisers pay more to reach viewers who might buy insurance or a mortgage than viewers watching reaction clips.

How much does country change the result?

Country applies a multiplier to the base rate. The United States is 1.5, the United Kingdom 1.4, Canada and Australia 1.3, and Germany 1.1. Global Average is 1.0. India is 0.5, Brazil 0.4, and Pakistan and Nigeria 0.3. A channel with the same views can earn several times more from a US audience than from a lower-rate market.

What does the CTR slider do?

The tool treats 5% as neutral. The CTR factor is your CTR divided by 5%, kept between 0.3 and 2.5. At 2.5% the factor is 0.5, at 7.5% it is 1.5, and at 12.5% or higher it stops growing at 2.5. Treat it as a way to test better or worse engagement, not as a promise.

Worked Example: 10,000 Daily Views in the US

Say you run an education channel with 10,000 daily views, mostly from the United States, at the default 5% CTR. Choose Education / How-To (base $4.00) and United States (1.5). RPM Used is $6.00.

Ad-eligible views are 10,000 × 45% × 1.0 = 4,500. Daily ad revenue is 4.5 × $6.00 = $27.00. Monthly is $810.00, yearly is $9,855.00, and the Illustrative Monthly Range runs from $405.00 (Low) to $2,025.00 (High).

Income rowMonthlyYearly
Ad Revenue (AdSense)$810.00$9,855.00
Channel Memberships (est.)$40.50$492.75
Super Chat / Stickers (est.)$24.30$295.65
Merch Shelf (est.)$16.20$197.10
Total Potential$891.00$10,840.50

Now change only the audience. Pick Gaming and India with the same views and CTR. RPM Used drops to $1.25 (2.5 × 0.5), daily earnings become $5.63 and monthly earnings about $168.75. That is roughly a fifth of the first scenario. Go back to the first setup and raise CTR to 7.5%, and monthly earnings rise to $1,215.00.

How Do You Read and Act on the Results?

Each result card answers a different planning question, so use them together rather than quoting one number.

  • Daily, Monthly, Yearly: the central ad-revenue estimate. Use it as a baseline, not a forecast.
  • RPM Used: compare it with the RPM shown in your own YouTube Studio analytics. If your real RPM is much higher or lower, your niche or country choice probably does not match your audience.
  • Illustrative Monthly Range: Low is 0.5 times the monthly figure and High is 2.5 times. Budget with the Low value and treat High as an upside scenario.
  • Total Potential: ad revenue plus 10%, split into memberships (5%), Super Chat and Stickers (3%) and Merch Shelf (2%). These rows are assumptions. Count them only if you actually offer those features.

What if the number looks too low?

Check the three levers in order. First, confirm the niche and country match your real audience. Second, look at volume: doubling views doubles the estimate. Third, test CTR. A stronger title and thumbnail pair can lift clicks, and you can preview versions with the YouTube title split tester. Better metadata also helps discovery, so review the tags on top videos in your niche and write a clearer description with the YouTube description generator.

Who Is This Calculator For?

It suits anyone who needs a quick, transparent revenue estimate without opening a spreadsheet.

  • New creators who want to see what 1,000 or 5,000 daily views might mean before applying for monetization. Google's Partner Program rules set eligibility thresholds, such as 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 public watch hours in 12 months for ad revenue sharing, so check the current requirements in YouTube Help.
  • Established channels comparing what a pivot into a higher-rate niche or a new audience country could change.
  • Marketers and agencies sizing up what a channel's traffic might be worth when planning sponsorships.
  • Students and business planners who need a simple, explainable revenue model for a content project.

If you want public stats for an existing channel first, the YouTube channel analyzer shows subscriber count, total views and an earnings estimate, and you can then enter those views here to test different niches and countries.

Best Practices, Common Mistakes and Troubleshooting

Most surprising results come from the inputs rather than the math. These checks fix the common cases.

  • Use an average, not a spike. Enter average daily views over the last 28 or 90 days. One viral video inflates every projection.
  • Keep CTR at 5% unless you have a reason. Moving it up or down is a what-if test, not a measurement of your channel.
  • Expect dollars, not rupees. All results are in US dollars, including when you select India. Convert to rupees or another currency yourself using the current exchange rate.
  • Channel names and video links are not accepted. The calculator works from numbers you type. Find your own views in YouTube Studio, or look up public channel totals with the analyzer mentioned above.
  • Results vanished? Changing any field hides them by design. Click Calculate Earnings again.
  • Error message about views or CTR? Views cannot be negative, and CTR must stay between 0% and 100%. The slider already keeps CTR between 1% and 15%.
  • Posting rhythm matters too. Steady views come from consistent publishing, and the best time to post calculator can help you pick a schedule.

What Are the Limits of This Estimate?

The calculator is an illustrative model, not a view into any real channel's earnings. It uses fixed assumptions for niche rates, country multipliers, the 45% ad-eligible share and the extra income percentages, and it does not pull live ad rates.

Real revenue also depends on things the tool cannot see: viewer ad blockers, YouTube Premium watch time, video length and ad placement, seasonal demand (advertiser budgets usually swell in the fourth quarter), and whether a video is advertiser-friendly. There is no separate Shorts setting, and YouTube pays Shorts revenue differently from long-form ads. Use the range, and confirm with your own YouTube Studio data when you have it.

Run your own numbers in the YouTube earnings calculator above, compare two or three niche and country combinations, and use the Low estimate for planning. For more creator utilities, browse the YouTube and social media tools collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate YouTube earnings from views?
Divide your views by 1,000 and multiply by your RPM. For example, 100,000 views at a $3 RPM is about $300. The YouTube Earnings Calculator also applies a niche rate, a country multiplier and a CTR adjustment, then shows daily, monthly and yearly totals.
Can I find YouTube earnings by channel name or video link?
No, this calculator works only from numbers you enter: daily views, niche, audience country and CTR. It does not look up a channel or video. Take your average daily views from YouTube Studio, or from public channel stats, and type them in.
Does the YouTube earnings calculator show results in rupees?
No, every result is shown in US dollars. You can select India as the audience country, which lowers the country multiplier to 0.5, but the totals stay in dollars. Convert them to rupees with the current exchange rate.
How accurate is this YouTube earnings estimate?
It is an illustrative estimate, not a measurement of real earnings. It relies on fixed assumptions rather than live ad rates, so the Illustrative Monthly Range shows 0.5 to 2.5 times the result. Check your actual RPM in YouTube Studio for real figures.
What is RPM Used in the results?
RPM Used is the revenue per 1,000 views the calculator applied. It equals the niche base rate times the country multiplier. For Education / How-To (4.00) in the United States (1.5), RPM Used is $6.00.
Is the YouTube earnings calculator free to use?
Yes, the calculator is free and needs no sign-in or channel connection. Enter daily views, choose a niche and country, set the CTR slider and click Calculate Earnings. You can rerun it with different inputs as often as you want.
