Product Schema Generator: Free JSON-LD Creator

Product Schema Generator

Generate Product JSON-LD schema to enable price, availability, and star ratings in Google Search.

Aggregate Rating (optional)

A product schema generator builds JSON-LD structured data that tells Google your product's name, price, availability and star rating. Fill in the form, click Generate Schema, and copy a ready-to-paste script for your product page. It suits store owners, SEOs and developers who want product rich results without writing code by hand.

What Is Product Schema Markup?

Product schema markup is structured data, written in the schema.org vocabulary, that describes one product on a web page in a format search engines can read directly. Most sites add it as JSON-LD, a block of script in the page head that sits apart from the visible HTML.

The Product type holds details such as name, brand, sku and image. Price and stock status live inside a nested Offer, and star ratings live inside a nested AggregateRating. Google's Search Central documentation treats these as the building blocks for product snippets, which can show price, availability and ratings beside your listing.

What does SKU mean in product schema?

SKU stands for stock keeping unit, the internal code a seller uses to track one specific product or variant, such as WH-1000XM5-BLK. An MPN is the manufacturer's own part number. This tool has a single SKU / MPN field, and whatever you type there is written into the markup as the product's SKU.

Does schema guarantee rich results?

No. Markup makes a page eligible, but Google decides whether to show an enhancement based on page quality, relevance and its own policies. Valid markup that matches what shoppers see on the page gives you the best chance.

How to Use the Product Schema Generator

You can create a complete Product snippet in about two minutes by working down the form once. Only the product name is required, but more fields make the markup more useful.

  1. Type the Product Name, for example Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones. The tool will not generate code without it.
  2. Add a short Description, the Brand and the SKU / MPN. Use the same wording that appears on the product page.
  3. Enter the Price as a plain number such as 299.99, pick a Currency (USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, INR, JPY, BRL, MXN, AED or SAR) and choose an Availability: In Stock, Out of Stock, Pre-Order, Discontinued or Limited Availability. Optionally set Price Valid Until.
  4. Paste the Product URL and Image URL as full links that start with http:// or https://.
  5. If you have real customer reviews, fill in Rating Value (1 to 5), Review Count and Best Rating. Leave all three empty if you have none.
  6. Click Generate Schema. The Product Schema Generated panel shows a script block. Click Copy Code to copy it.
  7. Paste the snippet once into the head of that product's page. Click Clear to start the next product.

Product Schema Example: What the Tool Returns

A realistic input shows exactly how the form turns into markup. Say you sell noise-cancelling headphones and enter these values.

  • Product Name: Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones
  • Brand: Sony, SKU / MPN: WH-1000XM5
  • Price: 299.99, Currency: USD, Availability: In Stock
  • Price Valid Until: the last day of your current sale
  • Rating Value: 4.5, Review Count: 128, Best Rating: 5

After you click Generate Schema, the tool returns a script block of type application/ld+json. Inside it, the product carries its name, a brand object, the SKU, your image and your URL. A nested offer holds price 299.99, priceCurrency USD, an availability link ending in InStock, the end date of the price, and a link back to the product URL. A nested aggregate rating holds 4.5 out of 5 across 128 reviews.

Read that as one statement to Google: this page sells one specific product, for this price, right now, and 128 people rated it 4.5 on average. If a reader sees $299.99 on the page but the markup says 279.99, you have a mismatch, and Google can ignore the markup.

How Do You Read and Act on the Results?

The output is one code block, so reading it means checking that each form field landed in the right place. The table below maps what you typed to what ends up in the markup.

What a good result looks like

A strong snippet contains a name, brand, SKU, image, a full offer and, if you have genuine reviews, a rating. Google's product snippet guidance asks for a name plus at least one of reviews, aggregate rating or offers. Without a price, no offer is created, so a snippet with only a name and a brand is weak.

What to fix when something looks off

  • No offer in the code: you left Price empty. Enter a price and generate again.
  • Rating error: the tool needs both a rating and a review count, or neither. Review count must be a whole number of at least 1.
  • URL error: product and image links must be absolute, such as https://example.com/image.jpg, not /image.jpg.
  • Rating out of range: the rating value cannot be higher than the Best Rating, which defaults to 5.

After pasting the code live, run the page through the schema markup validator to confirm the syntax and key properties are read correctly.

Who Should Use This Generator?

Anyone who manages individual product pages and wants structured data without hand-writing JSON benefits from it. These are the situations where it fits best.

  • Small store owners: add markup to a handful of hero products on a custom or hosted store.
  • SEO consultants: draft a clean example to hand to a developer, then compare it with what a client's theme outputs.
  • Developers: get a correctly nested Product, Offer and AggregateRating structure to use as a template.
  • Affiliate and review sites: mark up a single product page with its brand, image and price.
  • Sale planners: set Price Valid Until so a promotional price has a clear end date.

If you need markup for other content types, the broader schema markup generator covers articles, events and local businesses, and the On-Page SEO and Meta Tags category lists related tools.

Best Practices and Common Mistakes

Good product markup is accurate, specific and kept up to date. Most failures come from a small set of repeat mistakes.

  • Match the page. Every value in the markup should be visible to shoppers on the same page. Hidden or inflated data can lead to manual actions.
  • Use one product per page. Put Product markup on a product detail page, not on category or listing pages.
  • Paste the snippet once. Duplicate Product blocks on the same page can confuse parsers. If your platform already outputs schema, remove the old block or skip the new one.
  • Use real reviews only. Never invent a rating or review count. Ratings should come from genuine customers and appear on the page. If you also publish individual testimonials, the review schema generator handles review markup.
  • Keep availability current. A product marked In Stock after it sells out frustrates shoppers and breaks the match with the page.
  • Write the price without symbols. Enter 299.99, not $299.99. The Currency menu supplies the code.
  • Add supporting markup. Pair Product markup with a breadcrumb schema generator trail, and with the FAQ schema generator if the page has a visible question section.

Limitations to Know About

The generator creates one straightforward Product with a single offer, so it does not cover every product feature in schema.org. Knowing the edges saves time.

  • It creates one offer per product, so multiple sellers, bundles or per-variant prices need extra editing by hand.
  • Variant groups such as size and color sets are not supported.
  • The offer is always marked as new condition. For used or refurbished goods, edit the item condition in the copied code.
  • It has no fields for GTIN barcodes, shipping details or return policies.
  • It accepts one image URL, one price and one date.
  • Rich results depend on Google's own decisions. Markup makes you eligible and nothing more.

Because the output is plain JSON-LD, you can add any of those extras yourself after copying it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is product schema markup?
Product schema markup is structured data that describes a single product, including its name, brand, price, availability and ratings, in a format search engines read. It can make a page eligible for product snippets in Google Search, though Google decides whether to show them.
How do I create product schema with this generator?
Enter a product name, add optional details like brand, price and image URL, then click Generate Schema. Copy the result with Copy Code and paste it once into the head of that product page. Test it in a validator before publishing.
What is SKU in product schema?
A SKU is a stock keeping unit, the code a seller uses to identify one product or variant. In this generator, the SKU / MPN field is written into the markup as the product's SKU, for example WH-1000XM5.
Why does the generator ask for both a rating and a review count?
An aggregate rating needs both numbers to make sense, so the tool requires a rating value and a review count together, or neither. The review count must be a whole number of at least 1, and the rating cannot exceed the Best Rating, which defaults to 5.
Why is there no price or offer in my generated product schema?
The offer is only created when you enter a Price. If the field is empty, the code contains product details but no price, currency or availability. Enter the price as a plain number like 299.99, choose a currency, and generate again.
Is the product schema generator free, and does it guarantee rich results?
The generator is free and needs no sign-in. It cannot guarantee rich results, because Google chooses what to display. Accurate markup that matches the visible page content, with a price and genuine reviews, gives you the best chance of qualifying.
