Text to Image

Type or paste your text below, customize the style, and download the result as an image.

Style Options

This free text to image converter turns any words you type into a downloadable picture. Choose a font, colors, size, alignment and canvas dimensions, preview the result live, then save it as PNG, JPEG or WebP. It suits anyone who needs quote graphics, banners, labels or simple text overlays without opening design software.

What Is Text to Image Conversion?

Text to image conversion means rendering typed characters onto a canvas and saving that canvas as a picture file. The words stop being editable text and become pixels, so they look the same wherever the image is shown, including chat apps, social feeds and slide decks.

The phrase has a second meaning that you will see in many search results: AI text to image generation, where a model draws a new picture from a written prompt. This tool does not do that. It does not invent artwork. It places your exact words, in the style you choose, on a plain or transparent background. If you want a styled text graphic, you are in the right place. If you want a painted scene from a prompt, you need an AI image model instead.

What the tool controls

  • Content: multi-line text, with a new line wherever you press Enter.
  • Look: background color (or none), text color, font family, font size, bold and italic.
  • Layout: horizontal alignment, vertical alignment, padding and line height.
  • Canvas: width and height in pixels, or Auto so the image fits the text.
  • Output: PNG, JPEG or WebP.

How to Use the Text to Image Converter

You can create and download a text image in about a minute by working through the controls from top to bottom.

  1. Type or paste your words into the Your Text box. Press Enter to start a new line.
  2. Set the Background color, or tick None for a transparent background. Then choose a Text Color.
  3. Pick a Font Size (px) (8 to 500) and a Font Family: Sans-Serif, Serif, Monospace, Cursive, Georgia, Courier New, Times New Roman, Arial, Verdana or Impact. Use the B and I boxes for bold and italic.
  4. Choose H. Align (Left, Center, Right) and V. Align (Top, Middle, Bottom), then adjust Padding (px) and Line Height.
  5. Enter a Width (px) and Height (px) if you need an exact size, up to 10,000 pixels each. Leave both on Auto to let the canvas fit your text. If a fixed size does not suit your text, click Auto fit canvas to clear both values.
  6. Select a Format, check the Preview and the dimensions shown above it, then click Download Image. Click Reset to return every option to its default.

Worked Example: A Square Quote Graphic

Say you want a 1080 by 1080 pixel quote for a social post. The table shows one set of values that works well.

SettingValueReason
Your TextDone is better than perfect.Short and punchy
Font Family / SizeImpact, 90 pxBold headline look
ColorsWhite on dark blueStrong contrast
Width x Height1080 x 1080Square post size
Padding60 pxKeeps words off the edges
AlignCenter, MiddleCentered block

With a 1080 px width and 60 px of padding on each side, the text can use a 960 px wide area. Words that do not fit on a line move to the next one. At 90 px with the default 1.4 line height, each line takes about 126 px of height (90 x 1.4), so even four lines use only about 504 px of the 1080 px canvas and sit neatly in the vertical middle. Choose PNG, click Download Image, and you have a sharp square graphic ready to upload.

How Do You Read and Improve the Result?

The Preview and the dimensions label above it tell you exactly what you will download, so judge the image there before saving.

Check size and fit

If words touch the edges, raise Padding. If the last line is cut off, lower Font Size, increase Height or click Auto fit canvas. If the image looks empty, raise Font Size or shrink the canvas. A good layout leaves roughly equal breathing room on all sides.

Check contrast and readability

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines recommend a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for normal-size text. Black on white and white on dark navy pass easily. Light gray on white, or yellow on white, usually fail. On a 1080 px wide post, text under about 30 px is hard to read on a phone, while headlines of 60 to 120 px are comfortable.

Check line spacing

The default Line Height of 1.4 suits paragraphs. Headlines often look tighter at 1.1 to 1.2. Very long lines of small text feel cramped, so shorten the width or add padding.

Pick the right format

  • PNG: lossless, keeps text edges crisp and supports a transparent background. Best default for text.
  • WebP: usually smaller than PNG, also supports transparency, and works in modern browsers.
  • JPEG: small files, but no transparency and slight blur around sharp letter edges. Use it with a solid background only.

Who Uses a Text to Image Converter?

Anyone who needs words as a picture, instead of editable text, gets value from this tool.

  • Social media managers: quote cards, announcements and simple story backgrounds.
  • Bloggers and marketers: basic featured images, headline banners and callout graphics.
  • Teachers and students: vocabulary cards, signs, labels and worksheet headings.
  • Developers and designers: quick transparent text layers for mockups, or a labeled stand-in when paired with a placeholder image generator.
  • Anyone sharing text where formatting breaks: a picture of an address, code snippet or notice displays identically on every device.

Best Practices, Common Mistakes and Troubleshooting

Most poor results come from a handful of avoidable settings, and each has a quick fix.

  • Transparent background looks black or white in JPEG: JPEG cannot store transparency. Switch Format to PNG or WebP.
  • Text is cut off at the edge: a fixed Width and Height are smaller than the text needs. Click Auto fit canvas, or lower the font size.
  • One very long word runs past the edge: lines only break at spaces, so a long word or URL cannot be split. Widen the canvas, reduce the font size or add a space.
  • Blurry result after upscaling: create the image at the final size instead of enlarging a small one. If you need a different size later, an image resizer works best when you shrink, not enlarge.
  • Font looks different from what you expected: the named fonts are common ones, but their exact shapes can vary slightly between devices. Always trust the Preview.
  • File is heavier than needed: if the image will go on a web page, run it through an image compressor before publishing.

Keep SEO and accessibility in mind

Search engines cannot reliably read text inside pictures, and Google's Search Central guidance advises against putting important content only in images. Repeat the words in your page copy and describe the image in its alt text. Afterward, an image alt text checker can confirm no image on the page is missing a description. If you later need to pull words back out of a picture, the image to text OCR tool does the reverse job.

Limitations to Know About

This converter creates typographic images, not illustrations. It does not generate artwork from prompts, and it does not export SVG or vector files. Output is limited to PNG, JPEG and WebP, with canvas sizes between 1 and 10,000 pixels on each side. You choose from ten font options, and one style applies to the whole text, so you cannot mix colors or sizes within one image. For multi-style layouts, create separate images for each part.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this text to image converter the same as an AI text to image generator?
No. This tool does not use AI or create artwork from prompts. It places your exact words on a plain or transparent canvas in the font, color and layout you choose, then saves them as an image file.
How do I convert text to an image with this tool?
Type your words into the Your Text box, style them, then click Download Image. Choose colors, font, size and alignment, optionally set Width and Height, pick PNG, JPEG or WebP, and check the Preview first.
Which image formats can I download?
You can download PNG, JPEG or WebP using the Format menu. PNG is best for crisp text and transparency, WebP is usually smaller, and JPEG suits solid backgrounds. SVG export is not offered.
Can I make a text image with a transparent background?
Yes. Tick the None box next to Background, then choose PNG or WebP as the format. JPEG does not support transparency, so a transparent canvas will not stay transparent in that format.
Why is my text cut off or too small in the image?
Cut-off text usually means your fixed Width and Height are too small for the text. Click Auto fit canvas, lower Font Size or raise Padding. Width and Height accept 1 to 10,000 pixels.
Is the text to image converter free, and do I need to sign in?
Yes, the converter is free and requires no sign-in. You can type text, adjust every style option, preview the result and download the image without creating an account.
